about
Richard says: I was a Heavy Metal kid, Dominic was a punk. I started overthinking about what the difference was - musically and philosophically. Dominic cut to the chase, 'we were just the same kids, different clothes'.
Dick says: I wrote a song in a dream but when I woke up I could only remember a melody. Richard gave me these words and I did the rest.

Walked into the garage
With a flying V
Punk Rob took just one look

When I said Diamond Head
He jammed his bass into my nose
Just another teenage tribal war
Another fault line to expose

Things important years ago
Are more than teenage afterglow
In the mosh pit, dance pogos
Just ask Lemmy, because he knows
We’re the same kids different clothes
V3
Perfect fourths and power fives
Out of dry ice British Steel
Pistols sang about their real lives
With minor thirds to make it real
V4
Pinned our colours to our jackets
Took sides in the divide
But looking back I can see it’s
Not really quite that wide

Put our vinyl in the attic
Folded those fanzines
Punk faded in the static
Metal left in limousines
V5
And then we all went separate ways
Shuffling paper, mining seams
But when the Damned or Sabbath plays
I hope we still dream distortion dreams
